Established at the end of 2017 under the mandate of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, APIS MELIFERA BULGARIA Ltd. is a recognized organization comprising honey and bee product producers. Aligned with the Bulgarian Beekeeping Association, it brings together producers and aspiring entrepreneurs in the national sphere of apiculture and bee product manufacturing, providing them with support.
The organization’s primary aim is to consolidate the efforts of its members in bee product production and enhance consumers’ direct access to high-quality Bulgarian farm products. Its membership includes over 29 agricultural producers cultivating over 7000 hives, many of whom are certified organic bee product producers. The bees are kept in pure natural environments, away from agricultural fields, industries, and pollutants, with no synthetic chemicals or antibiotics used in apiculture. Bees are solely nourished with honey.
APIS MELIFERA BULGARIA Ltd.’s main objectives include supporting and improving the activities of its members, enhancing domestic and international sales of their products, and increasing their competitiveness. It aims to promote collaboration in the agricultural sector, adhere to European standards and market requirements, and boost the production of honey and bee products.
The organization is dedicated to implementing an internal system to ensure the quality, traceability, and planning of the production process and products.
