Beytüşşebap Municipality was established in the district center of Beytüşşebap, which is 120 km away from Şırnak province, in 1932 in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution to meet the local common needs of Beytüşşebap. Our district, which has 15,500 citizens in total, with 5,500 in the district center and 10,000 in the villages, relies on agriculture, animal husbandry, and beekeeping for livelihood, as it is a rural area. With its endemic plant diversity and rich high-altitude plateaus, our district sustains its inhabitants through plateau activities in summers. Our municipality employs 46 personnel and engages in activities including waste collection, road cleaning, municipal policing, street cleaning, urban planning permits and certification processes, tax procedures, social services, marriage ceremonies, parks and green spaces, vocational training, agricultural services, good agricultural practices, beekeeping practices, sustainable farming activities, cultural events for the public, courses, and disaster coordination center operations. Additionally, our municipality organizes course activities for young people and adults in our region according to needs and demands.
In coordination with Şırnak University, Van Governorship, District Agriculture Directorate, Beekeepers Union, and agricultural chambers, development efforts are carried out to enhance agricultural activities in our region. Beytüşşebap Municipality, in coordination with the Beekeeping Union in our region, is an institution that conducts research on beekeeping and agricultural practices, encourages producers to cultivate high-value-added products in addition to traditional farming within the framework of the region's productivity rate, and continues its efforts in this direction.
